HCC wrapped up an emphatic 7 wicket victory against VOC.
They challenge us with 188 run, it was not so much difficult target for us, it looked difficult but our two Gladiators Faizal and Berend-Jan make so easy , the brilliant partnership 110 was foundation of victory .
Faizal played a main role to established a marvelous inning, cricket point of view, it was a perfect inning, with extreme concentration and patience, every shot he played with its merit, both side of the pitch he hits the ball, his single were the most lethal, indeed these singles were cause of frustration of VOC, even they felt more pressure in this circumstance, they had no clue what to do: 60 not out
Berend-Jan played a gem of an inning, his 44 run were very valuable to chasing 188 runs, after losing 3 quick wicket , Adeel , Hugo and Peter. It was a mini crisis for us, but our great Faizal took complete control of the match. He is very talented all-rounder.
Our wicket keeper Peter Berg had a great calamity, he was victim of a wrong decision. It was a fault of our captain, without knowledge of cricket laws, he never should send child to stand umpire in the match, he should first teach them the umpiring.
Again hero of this battle Faizal took 3 wicket and brought us in the match, Hugo took early wicket, excellent catch took by our great fielder Wouter. VOC had a cricket warrior who smashed 52 runs within 5 over, it was threatening moment for HCC, he was butcher and nightmare for us. Faizal held his nerve and constantly searching the week point of the batsman, at last he find the gap and a perfect Yorker finish his inning. We all took sigh of relief, within 5 over he had 52 run and partner was only 8 run at that moment, there was another threat from Justin, who had 61 run; he was also a good bowler.
Collective team work and spirit which give us a strength to fight, again Faizal played a mature and responsible innings, having a nerve of steel and temperament to stay in crease to win the match for us, he is the man of match. We had also a hidden weapon in little hero Daan - he took a vital wicket and very economical spell, he has a perfect line en length and pace, his father Harold should be proud of him. He is great asset of the team.
