The captains perspective:
The most potent weapon in the hand of the oppressor is the mind of the
oppressed. Yes, we captured their mind and their imagination, we
mesmerized them, and slowly but surely we put them in trance.
Classic chase, they challenged us with 156 runs. Like a warrior we fought against a tiger (tiger lost).
Our
victorious gladiator Hamid Mir played a remarkable innings (70 runs).
Although he has played many innings in his life this one was definitely
special, as everyone else was getting out and he was basically left
alone in the battlefield with the pressure slowly mounting around him.
But he held his nerve and found the proper gaps and placements (deep
square leg was easy for getting 4’s). They used every Machiavellian
tactic they knew against him. But his highly skilful straight forward
bat and rolling shots make them absolutely mad.
Other sizeable
batting contributions were made by Adeel – a quick 20 run smash
including a huge six, Jart (18) and Peter Berg (11). Hamid Mir was also
by far the best bowler with 5 wickets for only 14 runs in 6 overs.
Other noticeable bowing actions were by Faysal (2 for 33 in 6 over).
