Last Saturday our team had to assemble early in the morning in some typical Sinterklaas weather. Storm and rain and with floodlights on. The type of weather that seperates the boys from the men.

The first few minutes both teams had to adjust themselves to the conditions with balls being blown all over the place. Unfortunately we once again started with giving away a goal making the task a lot more difficult. Luckily Sem, after having removed his woollen cap scored the equalizer from a fast break we came to know so well last season. However shortly after Wippolder were once again in front. On the stroke of half time Dante decided to test the keeper with a long distance shot that ended up in the "kruising" and the scores were level at the break. Our defenders, Maurits, Ben and Otger had done a terrific job fending of Wippolder who were playing with the wind in the back.
Our boys had that advantage in the 2nd half and showed the crowd how to take maximum use of the conditions. There was no looking back and goals fell at regular intervals. Marko put us in front for the first time in the match, followed by 2 good goals from Nicolas. By that time any resistance which might have been left from Wippolder had disappeared all together. This resulted in 2 more goals from Baptiste and Dante, who had played right winger the 2nd half with some nice crosses. Individually we have a very good team with a great goalkeeper, good defenders and enough "voetbal" up front to worry any opponent.
All in all a very good result in which our boys showed what is possible with this team. Let's hope we can continue this form for the last match in this calendar year.
