Goals Galore as F8 wins 7-0! 

F8 got to a flying start to the competition, winning their first game against RKDEO 7-0.  In an early kick-off game at 08.30, with the grass still wet from the dew, and the sun shining brightly, F8 dominated the game from the very beginning, attacking the opponent while not allowing them to penetrate the solid defence made up of Baptiste, Olivier, and Arthur.  Chances were many, but the first half ended 1-0, with Tjerk scoring the only goal after a good pass from Faisal. 

The pep talk during half-time must have done wonders, as F8 scored another six goals in the second half.  Faisal scored four times, with Marco adding a fifth, and Tjerk taking his tally in the game to two.  The score could have ended up much higher, but there were missed chances and RKDEO’s keeper also saved some fine shots.  Our keeper, Olivier, who replaced Claas in goal in the second half, did not have much to do, except watch the goals go in at the other end. 

The enthusiastic supporters cheered as loudly as ever and were rewarded with a fine display of attacking football, and an increasingly confident passing game, with our players linking well and helping each other.  In defence, Baptiste fought for every ball, while Arthur would not permit any one to pass him, and Olivier (in the first half) and Claas (second half) completed the solid line at the back.  Iram and Marko, quick and nimble as ever, unsettled the opponent’s defence, allowing Faisal and Tjerk to run at goal.  The coaches must be proud! 

Jeanneau, still recovering from his injury, was again at the sidelines, happily watching his team mates win handsomely!  Let’s hope that he’s back soon and that F8 keeps on winning and playing this kind of attractive football.
